Basicly the 2010 Road Glide is now a Street Glide with a Shark Nose Fairing (Street Glide seat, Street Glide rear fender facia, Street Glide rims and Street Glide rear shocks that are 1" lower).

The rest has been covered by others.

Me personally for functionality I'd go with the 09 as cruise is standard or get them to throw it in (good luck with that) as for a tourer this will come in handy while all other changes are looks and not function.
thanks just my opinion.

I say pick the color bike you want and be damned with the year. Your going to do what ever your going to do to the bike. As said 09 is better sited out of the box for touring, 10 is better suited for the looks. Either way your going to make the bike the way you want.

Go for the deal on an 09. 2-1-2 Exhaust (2010 is 2-1), good stock seat, air baffle between forks, standard cruise (2010 is an option), more color options, passenger floorboards in lieu of pegs on the 2010, an actual rear taillight (safer), and the non lowered suspension is more comfortable in my opinion.

The stock windscreen on the 09 sucks! You'll want to change that, but if you can get a deal on an 09 I'd go that route. I'd recommend ABS also.

Right on here,.. the 10's are a street glide with shark nose.. the 09's were pretty much an electra glide classic with shark nose minus the trunk.

Totally agree... color and graphics are a LOT more expensive to change than pipes or foot rests, shocks, etc. WHile the 2 into 1 may not be one's preferred look, they give the best performance and, let's face it, the Road Glide is a progressive/performance design and style of bike, so 2 into 1 is right in keeping with the progressive/performance orientation of the bike.

I want to thank all of you for your replies. I am going to get an 09, because it suits me better. the 10 will require too many mods to make it a touring bike, and I can get a better deal for the 09. Plus I have more color options ( but I am looking for an orange bike). Now the fun begins, mufflers, tour pack vs. backrest, ya know normal guy stuff to do to the new ride. Hopefully, my local dealer calls me by wednsday saying he found the bike I want. Once again thanks to all and keep riding safe
