Default Fluid Leak at 1000 miles? What is it? 09 SG

Just passed 1000 miles already have a problem. Wont be able to take to the Dealer for 2 weeks due to my schedule!

I was filling up with gas and noticed my engine guard was wet on the left side. Upon further inspection I saw fluid on the neck of my frame and the fork baffle. I wiped it all down thinking it might be neck grease from my recent 1k service that was dripping from the heat.

40 miles later by the time I got home it had leaked all over again and worse.

Photos show grease/oil on the neck of my frame, air baffle, left blinker and down my left fork leg.

Any Idea what this is? I thought maybe the fork was leaking but seems odd it would be coming out the top and getting up on the frame?

Your 2nd pic shows alot of grease coming out of the bottom of the head bearing.
Could be heating up and blowing back.
Wouldn't happen up here in Wisconsin today....IT IS FREEZING!!!!!
Easy to check to see if your shock caps are loose and leaking there.
Talk your dealer into a n/c 1000 mile service for your hassle.

In your 2nd pic, see all that grease that squeezed out when they lubed the steering head bearings? There's just as much up top that's liquidfying from the heat and blowing back on the bike.

It is common for the grease at the neck to melt unless you use a high temp synthetic.

Had the same thing happen with my RK, it was excess grease from the neck melting and running down the fork tube. I thought it was a busted fork seal but I was wrong, look in there and see how much grease there is.

Hmmmm...

Thats what I wrote in my first post that I thought it was but it seemed like way to much so I thought I would ask.

Hopefully thats all it is. I cant think of any other fluid source beside the fork and I couldnt see how it would get fluid up that high.

thanks again guys.....

I'm not sure I agree with that being grease. You have a brake line that is on the right side that could be squirting fluid onto the neck. You might check with a flash light and squeeze the brake lever, double check your fluid level in the front master cylinder. I'd suck to find out the hard way. My 2 cents...........
