Default HID Interference w/ radio

Alright I purchased a car HID kit to install on my father and my street glide. I installed a kit on my bike, and have no problems. I have aftermarket speakers and a 120watt amp and a short antenna. I installed the other half of the kit on my dads street glide. He has stock radio, j&m speakers and a hidden antenna. When the ignition is turned on hid turns on there is static in the speakers. I had to take the HID back out of his bike so the radio would work. I rapped the ballast in electrical tape, did several mounting locations, I cannot figure it out. Any suggestions, or any one have a similar issue. Thanks

Did you ground the HID lights good?

I would also swap the ballast out with the one in your bike, it may be a bad ballast.

It could also be that the hidden antenna in your dad's bike is being affected by the HID.

I'm not a big fan of the hidden antenna, personally...hope you find a solution. Having an HID headlight makes a huge difference when riding at night!

im almost positive that its the hidden antenna... But we dont really have any other option. Its an FBI razorback so there is no mount for a conventional antenna.

Get a non powered hidden antenna then. Mine interferred with my xm so I tossed the antenna and no more issue.

Def. the powered ant., had the same issue with another bike. We put on another non powered hidden ant and the problem went away.
