HK MP3 Filenames/folders

RE: HK MP3 Filenames/folders
I am 99.9% sure that I have my MP3 CDs set up in folders. The way I create my CDs for my bike and car are simply inserting a blank and copying folders into the open window (is it a feature of Windows XP).
I keep my MP3s on my computer in the format of: My Music\Artist\Song. So when I make a CD I always just copy the artist folder over.

RE: HK MP3 Filenames/folders
I've burned over 100 songs at the root level using iTunes. My HK has been able to access all the songs. I never tried using sub folders.
One question I do have is that the song title is displayed in one line on the display. And I think I have artist info on a second line but the clock time is displayed instead.
Only once or twice since I've had the bike did I see the artist info. It stayed on the screen for a few seconds then the clock time would be displayed. What usually happens is the song title changes but the clock time is always displayed.
Is there a setting so I can always see the artist info?
Thanks,
LeonD

RE: HK MP3 Filenames/folders
I don't believe the HK is engineered to read multiple directories / folders.
It can not recognize play lists on it's own either.
All you can do is burn however many songs that will fit on the disk in the root directory and it will start with the first track and work to the last.
Now if you want to play from different folders etc, get a dedicated MP3 player (like an Ipod or such). Use a patch cord from the portable to the HK.
Do your play list and folder selections and order on it.

RE: HK MP3 Filenames/folders
I use mine all the time and it does play the songs, in order, based on their FILENAME. I have some songs (Pink Floyd) that need to be played in order and I just renamed them so they were sequential by file name. Works perfect. Most MP3 rippers will put the track number infront of the name. Never tried different folders on the bike?
