You're lucky she didn't divorce you for making her ride on the back of a freakin IRON!!!
Don't use those piece of crap lowering kits, it will juist cost you more in the long run; been there done that!!!

Thanks My wife read your note she couldn't stop laughing she said you were right she only did it to humor me. That's why the Iron lasted only 2 months, She says at 57 you want comfort period

I lowered my 2000 Road King Classic with 1" shorter shocks & TJ Products lowering kit on the rear and Progressive Drop-in Kit up front. Ride is a little stiff, I run 12-15 psi in rear shocks solo and 35-45 psi when 2-up. Will bottom out a little on bad dips but not too bad.

Curious, did your seat lose a little butt comfort? Seems it would make it harder, and possibly a little uncomfortable over a long ride. If not, might give that a try, I feel like I sit too high in the saddle and don't really want to buy a new seat if I don't have to.

Check out Mean City Cycles for seat alteration. I bought a new Sundowner seat and then had them increase the width of the passenger seat and used the upgraded foam on both seating areas. I lowered the drivers seat and thinned down the very front to help get my feet down. Great service and my wife is a happier passenger. As they say "priceless".

I just installed 1 inch lower shocks the Mechanic put 32psi in. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. just the ride home felt stiffer. He said the shocks should bottom out once in a while when you hit a bad one. this exercises the shock what ever that means. some one else who drives an RC puts air at 9lb single 18 double. I guess its trial & error. I want to find a medium and leave it

You can't use those cheap lowering kits for the rear on a Road King Classic as they won't work with the hard leather bags. There are clearance issues. I just put on HD profile low air shocks 12" versus 13" stock. Seem to work fine and still retain the air suspension from HD. Not too hard to find a used set here in classifieds or e-bay in the $150.00 range.

You can use the lowering kits on the back of a Classic. You just have to drill out the rivits on the rubber cushions on the bottom of the bags, then scoot them INWARD from the original holes and redrill and pop rivit them back on. I think the distance is 3/4 inch. That makes the bag shift outward away from the shocks so they don't hit. I've done mine that way....have about 15,000 miles on them with no problems...even riding two up and fully loaded in both bags and a pack on the rack too.
