what did the poster say it does? the Harley Site doesn't seem to tell you what it does either ....

 

I installed the update this past weekend and indeed the the player now displays song title and artist when playing MP3's (not audio CD's though). The only problem is that sometimes the title displays and sometimes the artist. Not sure why.

 

According to the original poster on VTF, the new firmware is supposed to fix the issue of "Not displaying song titles from CD's and MP3 CD's" After fix the unit should display artist and song titles when playing CD's and MP3 CD's.

The "official" HD web page never has listed the fixes on any of the updates (not sure why).

I'll find out tonight when I get home.

I tried the update last night. The paperwork says it takes about 7 minutes.
Mine stayed on the "Verifying DSP Image" for over 15 minutes so I stopped the process.
How long did your update take?

I would say that 7 minutes sounds about right. I just put the CD in like they said and the update took care of itself after that.

 

Mine took 10 or 12 minutes. It did indeed fix the display issue of mp3's.

 

I am afraid saying that it displayed cd song and title may be my fault. I did say it did that on the other sight...going to correct it now... I tried it on an mp3 cd saw it worked, popped out that cd, put in one I had recorded that I thought was a standard cd and it displayed artist and track name, but I was wrong. After reading the posts here I went and tried a standard cd and it doesn't give the info on it. Sorry if I caused any confusion on this upgrade. Going to change the info at the other sight now.

 

Followed the directions. About 7-10 min I guess. Artist and song title appear when song starts then the clock replaces the song title. Great update!!

 

When you download the update and unzip, it will give you a folder with 2 files in it. Open the folder and copy the 2 files to the CD, NOT the folder with the 2 files in it to the CD--- you will get an error!

Got my update in and working and for the first time ever, am burning an MP3--look at me getting into the 90's
