Why Oh Why?

For that matter, why don't they offer a decent duel seat on the touring models? There are "many" posts here and elsewhere that testify to how uncomfortable the stock seats are. From what I've seen, most other manufacturers from Honda to BMW don't do any better so Harley's efforts aren't surprising, unfortunately.
Of course, Russell Cycle Products, Corbin, and others aren't complaining!

I bought the Brawler Solo Seat and I like it. I've only put about 100 miles on it but its exactly what I expected it to be.

Two reasons for not-so-good-or-touring seats on touring bikes, IMO, first is cost and the hope that the buyer will upgrade to a better sead and maybe the MOCO gets to sell you a seat twice. And too, if most riders change seats anyway, to suit their size and riding style, why should the company put on a great seat, when a "good" seat will do? Second, the uncomfortable seat looks great in the showroom. My SG seat looked and functioned great until me and my rider started to log on the miles.
It would be great if when buying a H-D you could get the seat you wanted right up front, with the cost of the stock seat not included in the final price.
