Default RE: Anyone done HOGTUNES with an AMP on a StreetGlide?

I just added the HD amp to my stereo with Hogtunes speakers all around. It really makes a huge difference and my ears actually hurt after a short period. However, I don't get much more bass out of the speakers but they are much much louder and very clear. Pez approved the HD amp install after I sent several e-mails about getting a little more volume out of the stereo. I wonder what the dealer would have charged to install the amp ??

If you want really good sound, get some J&M 7.255" speakers and their 250W amp to go with it. then add the Hogtunes tweeter pods and you will be set. That is what we all run at the shop. I am not knocking other speakers or brands, but we ran Hogtunes for a while and this sytem is head and shoudlers above them in my opinion.

I already have the Hog Tunes front speaker systems with the 24.2 amp and recently purchased the rear Hog Tunes rear speaker systems. But because my bike is an 2005 FLHT, I have to have a 40.4 amp. Was just hoping I could get the 40.4 amp seperately.

Hogtunes offers 2 amps. The older 40 or so watt one that comes with there ultrasound system (which I have) and they now have a high powered (160 watt?) unit.

Call Pez at Hogtunes. Great products, great company.

Give Wayne (FireCap511) a call before you blow more money. He set me up nicely with Hertz 6.5's and ARC 250wt Amp. WOW is all I can say. You have to remember these are bikes and do not have the best acoustics. I am very pleased with my setup and I don't know how it could be any better without getting crazy and adding a sub in a bag or something.

Nothing against them, just don't want one. Anybody tried to plumb an AMP in the front fairing? Or somewhere else? I want to end up with HOGTUNES in the fairing, and a little bit of amplification.. say, another 25 to 50 watts...

Happy 4th a little early, I am out for a few days to get the mitt fixed!
I have the HT amp as well as the Hog Pods. The amp with HT speakers improved the sound about as much as moving from stock to HT speakers, and I consider it money well-spent. The Pods put more output higher and closer to your ear level, and they were another improvement. The end-result was positive and IMO worth the money spent, but it won't sound like the home theater setup in your den, so don't expect miracles.

I have lowers and have considered adding the speakers to replace the glove boxes, but I'm happy with the status-quo and will likely not make that upgrade.

If you already have the HT speakers you'll need to call them for this package, as it isn't on the website. I wouldn't use the amp with the stock speakers if that's your plan. I wouldn't bet they could handle the increased output even though it isn't a huge change.
