Default Tire Separating on a 08 Ultra Classic

I have a 2008 UC with 9500 miles. I got home this past weekend after riding about 500 miles and parked the bike in the garage. I went out last night to look the bike over and wipe it down before meeting some friends for a ride and seen that the side wall is separating from the tread at the seam. This is on the rear tire. I seen 2 spots on the the tire where this is happening. The spots are 2-3 inches long. Where they are pulling apart, there is a material coming out.

Has anybody seen this and do you think Harley or the tire manufacturer will warranty this? I did not have my camera at home last night and I did not have time to inspect any further.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

My guess is that they will tell you that you rode with the rear tire under inflated. I'm not saying you did, but that's what their response will be.

9500 miles remember it will be pro rated for the wear..probably worthless persuing the warranty......Just be glad you caught it in time.....

Then again I get about 9-10k out of a rear tire.

I have an 08 and just took in for 15k mile service. During inspection, noticed a 2 inch crack in the rear tire. Mine was in center of tread area. As the tires were very near the end of serviceable life, I replaced both. But it still is odd for this to happen. We can't take a chance on a failure when you only have two wheels.

Others out there should inspect their tires carefully.

I don't care for HD stock tires, and replaced with E3s. Take a look at those if you are replacing.
