A buddy of mine manages an Autozone and he told me last week they are getting a new planogram of Silverstars. Maybe they will have the 881 or what ever soon.

The "stock" bulb is 881. They do not have a SilverStar version of that bulb.

oh great! I'm so damned confused now, I may just have to give up both day and night driving altogether, leaving only twilight and dusk. damn the luck anyhow.

oh yea, I know what, I need some of those strobe kits the road construction guys use on their super duty Fords.......... now that would be the ticket!

after all the bashing I took on my heated floor boards idea, I can't believe you are allnow ready to re-envent light.

Since I am planning on riding out to Sturgis I want something that will help light up the road.
Lawdawg : Round-trip Naples to Sturgis?!!! Isn't that about 5,000 miles .... quite a road trip, Pard. I'm impressed. [sm=biker2.gif]

Are you going to do it again this year?

I can get you an HID kit for your single lamp for under 200 bux. You'll never use your passing lamps again. If you do put them on at night, you won't be able to tell anyways since the HID is so bright!

If interested PM me.

I also foundthere is no Silverstar passing lamp yet (881 stock wattageor 886 brighter than stock).

I did replace the main headlight with a Silverstar H4. Now I have a white headlight and two yellowish stock passing lights! What a difference!I can't wait to change out the passers when the Sylvaniaboys make 'em. My wife saw the difference and she wants a new bulb for her Boulevard.

I just install 2 Silverstars in my passing lamps, they were #893.
They have a straight connector rather than the stock 90 degree one, but there was plenty of room in the back of the housing.

I really like the light, both for me to see the road, and for others to see me.

I have been using the PIAA Super White H4 80W/80W in the head light and the Super White 55W H3 in my driving lightsfor years, what a difference in the light output. Very, very bright white light. Blows the Silverstar away!

The PIAA is is a direct replacement motorcycle bulb and is designed for the vibration on a bike, has the same amp draw as a stock light, but puts out a lot more light. It's real close to HID lights.

Check it out>>> http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=83384A80-EEF4-4C71-97CE-2FD46EB0899F&search=H4%20bulbs&store=All&a mp;page=1

And, no they don't overheat and no they do not overload the wiring. Iwired my driving lights to stay on all the time, and again they do not overload the circuit!!!!!

You won't beleve the light they put out!!!

I've tried those and they wouldn't fit. Mine's an '06, maybe the housing is different than yours.
