Default Locktite on cam and crankshaft sprocket bolts?

Changing cams in my 2008 Roadking. In reading the manual it sounds like you should use
locktite on the bolts if not using new HD bolts. The bolts don't appear to have had any
from the factory. Would you suggest using locktite and if so, red or blue?
Thanks, Bob

definitely red locktight. The bolts from the factory should have the locktight on them that looks like its dried out.

Yes, either use a new cam retention kit which had red locpatch on the bolts or use red loctite on the stock bolts.

Thanks for the replies!
There was no dried out patch on the bolts when I took them out.
After reading the manual about heating the cam and crank sprocked bolts to break the locktite if necessary it surprised me how easy they truned out!
I'll use a samll amount of red when I bolt it back together.

My '07 manual says nothing about using new bolts or threadlocker on the old bolts, but I used some blue Loctite anyway when I did my cam job. At disassembly these bolts were surprisingly easy to remove and I didn't notice any evidence of using Loctite at the factory.
