I love riding up through Bennington to Wilmington through the mountains. Sometimes I'd go all the way to NH then down into Mass and visit Yankee Candle in South Deerfield. Took either 2 or the Mass pike back to NY.

I was at Lake George 2 weeks ago. Spent a day riding in Vermont. I thought PA. roads were bad until riding in VT. Nice scenery but the roads S&CK.

Living in TX and being so far from Vermont we have chosen AR for the fall colors. The Telihina scenic drive from Mena,AR to OK around Oct. 25th should have the trees in full Fall colors. Anyone down this way know anything about this?

I'd say you have a good chance of catching the colors. You ought to go ahead and ride 270 over to Hot Springs, or come up north into Newton County if you have time. There is a motel at the old Dogpatch amusement park, on S.H. 7 north of Jasper, that caters to bikes. It is called the HUB.

And no, I am not planning on touring Vermont. Beautiful pictures though........one of these days..............

I'm about 45 minutes south of Brattelboro. Fall is my favorite time of the year. The only thing that sucks about it is that winter follows fall.

Glad you enjoyed your trip!

Beautiful pics!

We have the same kinds of scenes here in the Colorado Rockies. Inspirational to say the least.

It's a shame that it only lasts for a few days, but I guess that's what makes it so special.

Ride safe,

John

I'm originally from down Arkansas way and yes, the Talihina drive is definitely worth the trip.

Be especially careful due to the other sightseers being distracted and not seeing you on your bike.

Geez, and you visited us during the season when our roads are at their best. After "Mud Season" (from March 'til the first hayin') when we have REAL potholes and frost heaves and you sink axle deep in soupy mud on the better dirt roads, we natives really appreciate how good the roads are the rest of the yee-ahh!
