Default 2008 Touring Model - Problems?

I am looking to upgrade from a softail to a streetglide. Have an interest in a low mileage '08 streetglide. Been told, however, this model year is plagued with problems; idle problems, isolated drive system failure, early clutch failure (due to gear ratio), etc. For those that own a '08 ... Any problems? I am not interested in the '09 or '10 model. Expensive, plus they just don't fit me as well due to the wider frame. Thanks for all replies.

I have 33k on mine, no problems at all. Runs great, had the isolated drive checked today when they put a rear tire on it. You will always hear someone has problems. Someone mentioned 09's frames craked or the new swing arm was holding water. If it is in good shape go for it. For added protection buy an extended warranty if you want

No problems here. I thought 2008 was a reasonably good year for HD Touring models compared to others.

Only prob I had was resolved fast and zero probs since. I am not a mchanic so bear wiht me here, but it had to do with the shifting inside the primary? It broke on the factory wield and the piece they replaced it with was much more beefy in the wield. Outside that it's the most dependable ride I have had. I would not hesitate to get another '08.

I hadn't heard the early clutch failure problem story. What would I do without the internet? I've got an '08 Ultra, no problems.

The only problem I have with my 08 RoadKing is that I don't get to ride it enough!
