The stock horn is going to suck anyway, might as well replace it with a real one like the mini beast or the stebel, etc.

Cruise cut out on me once, only happened that one time and works fine since.

Other than that, no problems.

I honestly believe 08 was a good year, fuel filter recall, and radio had to be exchanged, never had brake squeal(custom rims, rotors), overall love this bike.

I had the stage 1 done out of the box so I can't compare it with out, but others will tell you it is needed if not already. Also will need a seat change for longer distances. I use Amsoil, no rush hour riding, and don't race it. It is a touring bike and is used for that purpose and have had 0 problems with mine. Also, if you want ABS brakes buy one with'm.

Some owners have reported issues with the idle but that seems more due to habits developed by the rider...i.e. they tend to give the throttle a few twists before shutting down and that has cased the throttle-by-wire system to misread the 0-throttle setting causing the high idle.

I've had my '08 for two years now, and like most, have had no problems.

Good luck!
+1 on the fuel filter ...happened to me

I have an 08 Ultra and just finishing my second season with 37,000 miles. Brake squeel is just an irritant and can be minimized. Contrary to a previous poster, I find the seat one of the most comfortable I have been on. No problems and a great, reliable bike.

No major problems for me but more than enough small problems for 25k miles
battery went bad 1st 3 months .. left me stranded
fuel basket went .. left me stranded 1st 6 months
heated grips have quit working 4 times (in the shop today for repair)
5 fairing brackets have broke 2 different repairs
starter clutch making noise .... replaced starter
lifter tapping when cold for about 3-4 minutes till it warms up a bit just started that about 2-3 weeks ago ... replaced lifters
spring on saddle bag latch broke ... replaced latch
throttle grip came loose and was starting to slide off
I think mine was built on a friday
a couple other minor things I can't think of now
ALL have been fixed under warranty no charges to me other than the time and hassel to get it to the dealer, which is about 1 hour away, (dealer has been great for everything even though I do all regular maint myself) but my warranty is up in about 2 weeks, so hopefully all the 'bugs' are worked out and no major problems are comming.
I still love the bike and have no thoughts of getting rid of it.

Will have mine one year next month and 20K Miles Later is one of the Best Buys ever made .. I don't know where all the complaints are about the 08, but think this thread tells you far more happier campers with the 08 than not.. True may sound prejudiced a little because own an 08 but belive if had problems would be the first to say so .. Was a little worried about the Throttle by Wire and the so called 5th gear whine but neither has been a problem and the Cruise has been perfect from day one couldn't even set the Cruise in a Cadillac El Dorado as easy as can with this one ..
