Default Having radio problems

Hi Guys, I put up a post in the general discusion chat about my radio switching from FM to AUX at will. Didn't get much of a straight answer on the problem or solution. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what was the fix

Have you tried downloading any of the Harmon Kardon updates yet?

They did one about a year ago. I suppose there are a few since then?

I was having trouble with the front speakers cutting out with the hog tunes amp. traced all the wires and found no loose connections, now all the speakers quit working even though the head unit is on. guess it's back to the dealer I go. Maybe the third head unit I get will do the trick. since they have already replaced it once.

Software updates will not help here. The auto-detect switch on the aux circuit is activating. Either from a faulty plug or an issue with the circuit (liquid damage comes to mind). If it's not under warranty, try Iron Cross Audio (www.ironcrossaudio.com).

.

If you need a third head unit it's a good indication that there is an issue with the bike. Be sure the dealer checks all the fairing brackets. Loosing speaker output and eventually all audio is at many times caused by broken fairing brackets. The addition od external amps and heavier speakers only serve to amplify this problem. The week brackets sometimes cannot handle the extra weight.

Default Going in for THIRD head unit

I'm going in for my third head unit...The second one only lasted a month. Checked all the brackets and they are fine. Bike is an 09 FLHX and I'm pissed , three radios in less that a year is un acceptable. The second one broke at the beginning of an 800mi trip. I knew it was coming too. Radio sound would cut off, I would turn the unit off then on and it would work for a while then cut out again until the times between got shorter and shorter till I could get no sound at all...An exact repete as the first time.
