Thanks for all the advice, and I am suprised at the closet Buell fans. I know that these bikes are faster and have more torque out of the box, but I find the ergonomics better for me especially since my RK rarely sees the highway. I sat on the 1125 and firebolt and they feel more like a sport bike where your leaning over the tank. The lightning XB12scg fit me perfect because I am only 5'8". I guess it's time to start looking and I will try the trade in route first but I am sure that I will take a bath on my RK, so it might be in the motorcycle sale section of the forum soon!

The Ullysses is a awesome bike...V-twin...American, POWER WOW...it will turn like a ****...heated grips & seat... tourpak. The only thing missing is the cruise and comm system. My arthritis is the only thing keeping me from buying one.

I have owned 3 Buells, 02 Cyclone, 03 XB Lightning, and 08 1125R. Out of all of them I miss my XB the most & still wish I kept that bike. It was a lot of fun! I agree with an earlier post...a Buell is like your hot girlfriend on the side...it was always a second bike for me. Just one word of caution...look for a used one cause they have some serious depreciation.

I had a Buell Firebolt XB12R. The rocket one, man I miss it. It was awesome. I had it while in college and all my riding buddies who had jap bikes drooled over it. I took it to the dragon and those guys just ate it up. It was a dam good bike and a fun one to boot.

depending on how much you owe on the king... are you losing money to get the buell? If you are losing money, and you are planning on another cruiser - weigh your financial options... but more importantly... ride what you love.

Good tip! I bought mine new but cheap. They discontinued the XB Firebolt over here in the UK when the 1125 was introduced. Many months later poor Buttercup was last one in stock, sitting in a corner in need of a bit of tlc....

Not sure how much life is left in Buell. Sounds like they closed up shop for a while. The word I hear in MKE is they might not be around much longer. I've owned a Buell years back and really enjoyed it. I think they are about the worst as far as trade in or resale in the motorcycle world. Maybe this is just in my area? I've had my eye on a Ulysses for quite some time but just cant pull the trigger on it. Would be a great second bike for me. Every Buell I have driven has kept a smile on my face for a while after dismount. They are a kick in the pants to ride!.

Well, I got the chance to stop by the local Buell dealership with my RK and they had an 09 XB12Scg in stock. I own my bike outright so no payments and they worked up a deal which I though was decent. They are giving me $14K for my bike which would end up being a trade of the Buell and a dealer check (cash) for $3500 for my 09 RK. Once thing with trading it in that I didn't think of is that I wouldn't have to pay any sales tax because my bike is worth more than the Buell. Is this a good trade?, financially? Thanks in advance for your advice!
