After 1200 miles this weekend, I found I really enjoy the windshield at high speeds, but the standard QD shield wont let me get my 16" apes in the right position. (6'1, with a 30" inseam creates unusally long arms!) Has anyone tried a windvest on a FLHRC? If not, does anyone have any idea on correcting this, other than cutting the scallops in the sides of my windshield?
I don't know about one for the Road King, but I do have a Windvest for my rigid. It is extremely high quality. Good luck...The Windvest customer service was awesome and helped me get the right one for my bike.
I had a 16" Windvest on my old Road King Classic, no apes though. What is the distance between the bars on your apes? That should tell you if you can get away with one. They are extremely high quality shields and hardware.

Distance between the bars measures at about 18", so even the 16"x16" wide model should work. Is wind protection about the same as the stock shield?
It won't be as great (in my opinion), but much better than nothing.
Have you called and talked to anyone there yet? If not, do so and send them detailed photos of your bars and even measurement. They are pretty sharp and seem to really know their stuff.

One of my son's buddies uses a wind vest on his Road King Classic. He rides daily and really like it. He runs 16" apes too.
