In my sig pic, you can see my bags. They are Dowco Iron Bags. 3 seperate bags that all attach together. Base bag, overnighter, and roll. I added the roll to the collection, this year, to hold camera, sunscreen, maps, etc.

We use the overnighter a lot on day trips to hold our stuff. They are very well made and the whole set up came to about $200 on sale. Had em 2 years and on two 2 week vacations, and yes my wife packs for a month All have rain covers as well.

On a side note, I had a T-Bag Super T and these bags hold more.

And this is the rack I use and it works perfect.

I use a T-Bag Lonestar and a detachable back rest with a luggage rack installed. Just detach the racks as one and haul 'em to your room, tent, teepee or wherever you decide to crash.

We just broke in a Saddlemen S3500 bag. It works very well. It seems a bit unique in that the entire ends will swing open, like doors, from either side. Along with an ajustable shelf on the inside, this is a nice feature as it allows instant acess to the bags contents. The mounting system is rock solid. The only downside for us is that the built-in rain cover is a VERY tight fit even when there is nothing in the outside pockets: fill those same pockets and the cover will not fit at all. I emailed Saddlemen about this, thinking that maybe I just had the wrong cover, but have received no reply. We are just going to buy a good waterproof backpack cover at the local Backwoods store, large enough to fit over everything. All in all this is still the best bag I've ever used.

I had this set up before getting the Tour Pak. The T-Bag brand is high quality and comes with an attached rain sock.

BTW where in OK are you? Grew up in OKC.
The rack is independent from the sissy bar and takes about 10 seconds to attach or detach. No tools required.

I live in Norman and work in OKC but I grew up in Ada.

Detachable luggage rack and T-Bags Lonestar or Route 66 should do it nicely. The T-Bags comes right off and has built-in backpack straps (hidden) and a good handle on top for lugging like a suitcase. The mounting system they use is excellent.

Picture is a couple of months ago in the middle of nowhere...shows all the crap I had hanging off the bike...and my lady is a pretty easy/light packer. But you can see how the T-Bag sits on the rack. Tat is a Lonestar and has just right amount of room or a 4-5 day trip (with the roll bag on top).

Check out my sig pic.

Get a luggage rack then go to a sports store and buy one of the big hiking bags they have. Tbag is a great option as well.
