Default 07 swap to Brembo...Anybody?

Has anybody swapped the 07 or earlier calipers to the newer Brembo's? is it doable? The braking power on the Brembo is so much better...What is involved.

I have done searches on this and have not been able to answer. If anyone has removed the nissin system and put on brembo ABS Please speak up.

a lot of people have made the switch from the nissin brakes to the brembo. but i don't think you'll be able to go as far as retrofitting the abs.

Have to add, it is so much less expensive to install Lyndall pads if you really want to be able to stop the bike,in the shortest distance possible. If it is pure bling you want hanging off the bike, then go for it.No doubt you will certainly be better than stock either way you go.

The Nissin ABS system was a stand alone ABS controller unit and did not interface wih the ECM. The brembo system uses the Delphi ABS controller and it IS interfaced with the ECM. The controllers will NOT swap.

I respectfully disagree with Dogs suggestions that Brembos are bling. There is a reason they are expensive, they are worth it. http://www.qtmi.com/ This is the URL for the US distributor for Brembo. They are expensive! You must go with with the Brembo rotors for the full effect.
As far as ABS goes, there is not retrofitting on a Harley.

I totally agree with this comment! I have an 07 and converted to the 08 stock Brembos upfront and they are like night and day in comparison, I wouldn't go back. It is one of the best changes you can do to your bike. No ABS, just the rotors, calipers, reservoir and levers (both brake and clutch to look alike). You can find used ones on ebay and pull it all together. WVultra has a great write up on doing it.

Agree with Hog Yild 100%! The '08 and up Brembos are a major improvement in braking for the earlier models!

This will give you a good idea of what's involved.

IMO, the '08+ H-D Brembos are the finest factory braking systems ever offered for these heavy Touring models.

Done double sintered pads already...improved the stopping but not as good as the Brembos...
