Starting Engine on Jiffy Stand
Ok, this is a really lame question, but I'll ask it anyways. How many of you start your engines with the bike on the jiffy stand? I always sit on my bike and have it level when I start it. (basically, trained this way by my MSF Instructor) Then I usually wait about 20 seconds or so and then put it on the jiffy stand to let it warm up while I'm putting in my ear plugs, helmet, gloves, and closing the garage door.
I was thinking that as long as I check and make sure the bikes in neutral, should be no problem starting it on the jiffy stand and letting it warm up.
What do you guys think?

You don't really have to let the motor warm up but you do have to allow it enough time to become properly lubricated, 15-30 seconds according to the manual. As far as making sure it's in neutral, you can't start a late model Harley "in gear" unless the clutch lever is pulled in.
