Default Perhaps the dumbest question ever asked...SG seat removal?

I'm at my office and was looking to plug my bike (08 Street Glide) into a charger and do not have an owners manual here. Anyway, I am trying to remove the seat and do not see a way to release the passenger grab handle. There has to be an easy way to remove this thing but I don't see it. Anyone care to clue me in? Thanks. I feel so stupid right now for asking this.

There is one easy way, cut it or you have to take off the saddle bags and then the saddle bag mounts. The new ones might snap, but I jsut remove it straight away and get rid of it.

I would remove them the same way I have taken all mine off on RK and SG never use them if they want something to hang on to buy the bars out of the side of the seat.

So it shall be. Kind of figured there would be a way to remove this quickly. Guess not.

On mine I took the strap off both sides and looped it under the seat and tied the chrome tabs together with a plastic zip tie. Now it comes on and off with the seat. I like to use it to cover the slot where the rider back rest slids in when not running the back rest

Just take off the strap and leave it off.

On my '08 I took the strap off the mounting brackets, then turned the brackets upside down and reinstalled just the brackets back on the bike. They make a nice place to hook a bungy cord too.

The '09s brackets are different, so I didn't do it to the '09.
