I have an old spray can of "Oops" adhesive remover. I spray it on a towel, lay the towel on the residue for a minute or two and then wipe away. Also good for getting a little buzz if you use it in the garage with the door down.

Any type of spray that has citrus in it. We use "Slice" at work but many citrus based cleaners.

Soak it down with WD-40. Won't hurt anything on the bike and washes off with soap and water afterwards.
