Default 09 Road King Classic - V&H Big Shot Duals Install

I am in the process of installing Vance and hines big Shot Duals on my 09 Road King Classic. I am having trouble ligning up the bracket to the nut plate on the right side? Does anyone have any suggestions? There has got to be a trick to it.

Are you talking about the exhaust manifold plate that goes over the studs in the head? If so it has to go on even and level to get both studs in the holes, in other words both studs go in at the same time.

No, it is the bracket that replaces the OEM bracket on the transmission housing and connects to the pipe.

Oh, gotcha. Make sure everything is loose and line that up. Start from the back and work to the heads if that helps. Just don't bind the system.

Yep...already tried that approach. I have everything loose, the back bracket off the saddlebag frame has a rubber grommet so that has some play and I had no issues getting that to align. But when the back was attached the bracket on the transmission housing doesnt line up. I think I am going disconnect at the head and then attach from the rear like you suggested.

Thanks

JR

Yes, start from the back and go to the front with everything loose.
