why would anybody want a police edition bike. I looked at them on the web site but fail to see the draw to interest.

Ughhhhhh, price? These aren't "police bikes", they are UCs, RKs, and HCs (maybe another model or two) with a little different paint/trim scheme sold to actice or retired police and fire people at a little discount. (leaves you more money for krome and stuff!!)

The terminology gets confusing. What's being discussed is the Peace Officer Special Edition Ultra; not a police model as used in law enforcement. The POSE bikes are available as Ultras, RK's among other models:

I would get one but it would be like my 3 or 4 bike that I would never ride and try to keep in mint condition till I'm old & gray.

Also keep in mind the money you save now, you pay later, buddy just went thru this 05 road king POSE, lost $1500 on trade because it was a POSE. 3 or 4 dealers told him same thing ( +/- a few $ )

My 08 ABS Peace Officer Special Edition FLHTCU was $2000 under MSRP as well. I love it!

And why would that be??? There is no difference except some stick-on emblems.

Mike that was what we thought too, but 3 or 4 told him the same and I was with him at one dealer. The only explanation one gave him was the discount isn't there to make him money on the bike. The discount up front had to be taken off the top at time of sale.

I checked on ordering a 2010 POSE Ultra from some Wisconsin dealers and was quoted $1500. off MSRP from more than 1 dealer. I found a better deal and took a regular 09 Ultra with ABS for $3000. off.
