Default How do I remove my windshield?

I bought an 05 RK, my life-long desire. The guy showed my how easy it was to remove the windshield. I can't remember. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the type that has two wire loops on the top of each mounting bracket. Pull up on those loop tabs and pull top of windshield forward.

Not sure why the wire loops are there as they don't seem to help hold the windshield in place. I simply stand in front of the bike, straddling the front wheel and placing hands on either side of the windshield and then pulling toward me, and then lifting it out of the lower bracket grommets. When putting it back on, the windshield is held in place by rubber grommets- you just set it in place in the lower brackets and then push it into place-it just snaps into place. The pressure of the wind ensures it will not come off.

The pins are there to add extra security and if they are set right need to be lifted prior to pulling the shield off. Stand in front of bike over fender, thumbs on cross brace, first finger to lift pins. Now hold on both side of windshield pull the shield away from the top gromits, rubber mounts. When these pull away lift shield from bottom mounts.
Lift straight up as not to hit and scratch any chrome.
The more light the better.
The rubber mounts are designed like a yoyo with the mount in the middle. Lower mount back in first. Once aligned, slide top mounts in. You may have to put a little in or out pressure at top part of mount to align. Set pins.

I did look for video's on youtube . nada. i did see a video on how to put one one though. it wasn't on youtube though. would be a good idea for someone to do simple items like that. it keeps me from having to ask one of the locals and they thinking i'm dumber than a rock.
thanks for all the help. i got it off. shouldn't be a problem getting it back on.

Devo6684, the wire loops DO help hold the windshield on. If yours don't then you need to push them down over the rubber grommets. You may need to bend them down slightly if they are not catching. You should have to pull them up to pull the top of your windshield forward. In other words, you should not be able to pull your windshield forward unless and until you pull the wire loops up.

paguy's instructions are correct.
