I hit a chuck hole one night and my radio screen light went dim on my 06 ultra classic it's realy hard to see during the day time, and also can any one tell me how to go about changing the rear brake pads thanks chris

 

The light on the stereo can be made dim/bright through your radio. You need to toy around with the buttons until you find the Setup screen then the Display. The Display is where you'll set the light.

Rear pads..you need to remove the 2 pins that hold the pads in. After removal, slide a screwdriver between the pads & rotor to open the caliper pistons...open all the way. Slide old pads out, new pads in. Replace the 2 pins and pump the brake up.

Lastly, might I suggest purchasing a Service Manual?
If you're going to wrench on your scoot, these things are a wealth of knowledge.

 

Assuming you have already tried the contrast adjustment.

Press the 1, 3, and ok buttons at the same time. This will get you into a sub menu. Use the up or down arrow to scroll to the display setting. Change it to the "day" setting and see if the backlight comes on. If it's still dark, there is a chance the impact from the hole damaged the faceplate connection or connector itself.
