Installed SE Compensating Sprocket
Had an oil leak on the rear drive sprocket ( counter sprocket) and brought it into dealer for repair. Because they had to take off the primary anyway, I ordered the the new SE compensating sprocket to replace the stock one.
Here are the results, much smoother starting ( no loud noises), no more shuttering from dead stops with a very smooth take off when you let the clutch out. Releasing of the clutch is now seamless and very much improved. This new sprocket seems to have tamed the harsh torque off the crank onto the primary drive, smoothing out the transition to the clutch. Very, very happy with the results.
Also put on the new Elite 3 tires (f/r) and that made a big difference also. Very smooth, no more snake line wiggles. Got about 200 mi on them with no rain experience yet but, expect to see improvement. Putting on new brakes pads this weekend.
Next thing to be installed is a True Track under the motor to help with the wobble when taking long sweeping curves at highway speeds.
It's too bad Harley has gone to cheap engineering to save a few bucks on production costs but, in all fairness they have made some improvements. The SE sprocket ($249) should be on all production bikes, in my opinion.
