With the PCV with Auto-Tune you don't reuse the narrow-band stock sensors, but replace them with wide-band sensors that will allow closed-loop throughout the RPM and TP range. You could theoretically use the stock sensors with the basic PCV (no AT), but in closed-loop mode you would have no adjustability to your map, as they would overwrite any changes that you make. I've never heard of anyone doing this, but can be done. Further, you also have no adjustability with the output of the sensors themselves, so you'd be running 14.6:1 in most of the RPM/TP range, which defeats much of the purpose of having a tuner in the first place.

This can be of value if your base map is not exact for your bike as having the O2 sensor input will allow the autotune to make fine tune adjustments for you. I think most that have a close map to begin would I think benefit much less from the autotune as it's not going to adjust all that much. Perhaps others can comment on this piece.
IMO the basic PCV with a correct map is the best value for most people. AT is good for pathological tweakers (like me) and/or those who plan on making changes to their configuration (cams, etc.).

On the one map vs. two. I suppose there are a few cases where this might be applicable. One I see in AZ, as my sister-in-law lives there. They have a smog test. If her bike is tuned too rich, it doesn't pass the test. So she could use one map for "normal" and one, build a lot leaner, for the smog test. Another case might be someone wanting a relatively lean map for gas mileage, but the option for a richer map to aid in cooling a bit if the weather is hot and/or they are in traffic for example. The question you ask about mileage vs performance might be another case for two maps.
I never thought of the smog-test idea, but since that is presumably a once-per-year activity you could simply make some simple changes to the map on the day you have the test done (e.g., run a zeroed map), then go back to what you were running before. The mileage and cooling map combo is the most effective use of the map-switch feature, IMO.

Thanks. Those two explanations are very helpful.

Anybody know whether having or not having the O2 sensors affects the warranty?

Local Harley dealer here is dead set against any power commander product and says the warranty is void if found on the bike.

This is what upset's me about Dealer's telling People BS like this. My Dealer told me as long as the PC-V didn't cause the issue, it wouldn't affect the warranty.

Just ordered the AT from Fuel Moto for my already installed PCV. Hope to get better mileage when running down the interstate. My bike runs fine. Doesn't foul plugs and runs good across all RPM ranges. I have had people tell me it smells like it running rich. When you whack the throttle you get a little black smoke. Hoping AT helps with that a little.

We will see.

Yea, that's how I would have done it (and will do it if I have the same issue in TX), just send a new map the day of the test, then resend the old one once back at home.

I suppose someone wanting minimal time on the "lean" map could either (a) take a laptop and just before pulling into the smog test location switch the map, then switch back right after, or (b) install the switch (which I've seen done).
