Default 1989 Electra Glide Exhaust Fitting

Hi all. I have a 1989 Electra Glide Classic and am looking at a new exhaust system Could someone tell me if part numbers 65627-99A, 65626-98A and 65621-99A would fit my bike year? Thanks. Gee.

I had a 1989 Ultra. I replaced the exhaust system with one from a 1998 model. If you look in the catalogs, the restriction on years is because of the Flange connection on the early EVO models. The later models used the clamp type. I believe the exhaust for any EVO will fit up to 2004. Or when they started to put the O2 senser on the exhaust.

I have no idea! Your bike originally probably had flared pipes where they join the mufflers, like my 1990 bike. If you replace the pipes with later style, they will fit straight on, as long as you fit matching later mufflers. The whole catalogue of all the pipe and muffler brands is your oyster! I have Samson true duals with S&S oval mufflers on mine at present.

When I changed the mufflers on my '93 ultra, I had to cut the flanges off the pipes on both sides. You have to be cafefull, and cut just the flange off no more. But after that any new pipes will slide right on. If there's a burr, just file it smooth The left side has to be tightened a few times as it tends to be a loose fit.

+1 on big cahuna's post, they removed the flanges in 1995 and there after.

The flange on the header pipe where the muffler attaches is the difference. I cut mine off and put Rush Mufflers on my 89.
