Part two..........how about extra oil cooler......what impact does that have on the overall engine temp? I installed the lowers.......it is so nice for Oregon an I have to say I love the look. I always get a kick out of the Ultra guys that ask why I just didnt buy an Ultra ....hoppe stuff on my work bench......$700 later......New Fairing brackets were a brilliant move....seriously the way to go....great post great idea.....

I put a HD oil cooler on mine. Lowers the oil temp a bit but doesn't do anything for the exhaust temp which is the source of most of the r/s heat. I'm changing the header this week to a non-cat type so I'll be curious how much that cools it off. Of course today its only going to be 66F

marcparnes, I am curious. Did the new header solve the heat issue? I have the same issue although my header is alreaday catless. Thanks

It really hasn't been hot enough to tell yet. It seems a bit better but not by much unfortunately.

Something you may want to consider to reduce heat on the RG is floorboard extensions, and while that might have you scratching your head, it seems that moving the floorboards out and up changes the wind flow thru the bike, and for me reduced some of the radiant heat.

I added lowers to my RG and that started a process which involved adding vents that I bought for 50 dollars from a guy in FL. Then adding an oil cooler, Then a PC III, then the thing that made a huge amount of difference was the HD shields that go under the front corners of the seat. Now I can ride the damn thing without getting my legs burned.

Default Road Glide headlights

I went to my local HD dealer and gave them the part numbers for the headlight conversion (new mounting plate part# 67959-10 and 3 new adjusting screws part# 67980-10) and they could not find them at first.
They did find the numbers but no good description. Just wanted to make sure before I order that these will change the adjustment of the headlight to the front of my 05 RG. I have seen some other references that these might be a European part.
If any one has converted there headlights let me know.

Those are the correct part#s as I posted originally. I got them from Zanottis. They are for our USA 2010 bikes and will retrofit back. I don't know if they used them for export purposes or not.
