I am looking to install a cigarette-style plug-in in one of the saddle bags of my RK Police. The main reason to to charge my cell phone (which stays in the bag while I'm riding anyway.) Anyone done this or a similiar install that can provide any input/resources for materials is greatly appreciated.

 

I haven't, but it sounds like a good idea.

 

I added an outlet in my tourpack, I tapped off the running lights for it.

I did the very same thing for my roadking. The only flaw i see is i dont think i would zip tie it to the rear shock air line. I leave some slack and just shut the lid on the tour pack. When you dont need it take the seat off and pull the plug and store the whole thing for later use. It came in real handy to inflate the air matress in Sturgis last year which was the intended use and while there i got a cell phone charger cord.....real easy.........
