Default 2-up seat question: Sundowner or Mustang? Your preference?

I have a Sundowner on my 04 FLHRSI and trying to decide what seat for my '10 FLTRX. I like the Sundowner, but I'm wondering if I might like the Mustang as well or better... and the Mustang two-piece option could be a nice thing to have.

Would appreciate hearing your preferences and suggestions.

If you like a soft pillow type seat you probably won't like the mustang. They are a bit more firm than Harley seats. Not hard like Corbin but firm. They do tend to set you up a little higher and push you foward just a hair. I have had three and I love them. Sport touring is 15" for rider and 11" for passenger so a little lower profile than a 14" passenger pad.

I have over 50,000 miles on a Sundowner; had Corbin and rode a Mustang long enough to know it wasn't for me.

I vote for the Mustang because I have one on my Road King. It took about a thousand miles to break it in but I could not imagine a more comfortable seat. I have put 12K miles on it now and it gets better with age. I have never tried the Sundowner.

My 07 RK came with the Sundowner on it. My wife didn't like it much becuse she sets to low and not much padding. So my friend has the Tall Boy from HD and we tried it. Its alot bigger for her and me and sets her about 2" taller than the Sundowner, it has much more support and feels great. Seats are tough to find because you really don't know until you try them for awhile. I have had a Corbin on my last 4 bikes until I tried this one. Good Luck

Having tried the Mustang, we like the Mean City mod better. We went with a double decker on the front seat and a wide double decker on the passanger seat, and if feels great. The Mustang felt too far forward and high, and the MCC really fits us well.

I put the Mustang Regal Touring seat on my RK and have spent the last 40k miles in comfort. Wife loves it too. Whenever another guy's Ol Lady sits on it, they always tell their Ol Man that they need to get one.
