Lost mine and the dealer said it happens all the time. The dealer suggested a rubber plug. Had a rubber plug in my parts box that plugs the hole when my GPS is not plugged in.

That's pretty cool. $24.99 though...ouch. My JROTC instructor friend let me have an Army recruitment flashlight giveaway goody for free. But that's a cool idea.

I lost mine however it landed in the area of the gear shift rod, I did not know this but I could not shift out of second gear because it was wedged in, I took it to the dealer and the service guy could not belive it. I replaced it with a small rechargable flashlight.

I lost mine yesterday with only 500 miles on it. I remember something hitting my foot on the freeway and thought it was a piece of debris or something. Later realized it was the lighter falling out.

The manual says dont use it for any electrical accessories? Why not? Since I dont smoke I thought It would be great just for that reason such as charging a cell phone.

Glad I am not the only one who has had this happen. I went to Pet Boys and bought a replacement for 5 bucks. Haven't had a problem since.

I don't use my lighter either, so I went with this option:
