Depends on how far your going but you may want to call a motorcycle tow company to tow it over. The dealer or your insurance company may have some numbers for them in your area.
Just like Kman suggests, or look into a local courier in your area that way, if something goes wrong you can kick the manager in the head locally (j/K) i mean erm so you can ask people around if they have had a good experience with them.
I bought my bike from PA and had it shipped to CA using Allied/Federal: bike loaded/strapped to a pallet, insured (additional at extra cost), shipped in an enclosed trailer and delivered to my driveway in less than a week. I got e-mail notifications as the bike made stops along the way and last but not least, the bike was damage-free when ti arrived.
Don't forget that the fluids must be completely drained without a trace of odor or it will have to be shipped as a class 9 hazmat.

I can't believe the took the bike with fluids in it. No shipping company I know of will take a bike with gas or oil in it. You can't even take a lawn mower into Home Depot with gas in it.
I shipped mine back and forth from Germany and the States,Army paid for it, and all I had to do was disconnect the battery and drain fuel. But they didn't even check the fuel..
