Default 103 Build opinion

I'm going ahead with a 103 . 103+ pistons , keeping my Headquarters Heads .
The question is has anyone put Andrews 585 gear drive cams in a build like this ?
I've heard that gear drive cams can be noisey but that doesn't bother me .
I will put up with a little noise to avoid the cam tensioner issues .

What's your bike, how do you ride, & what are you trying to accomplish?

Have you called and asked the guys at HQ about any reccomendations they might have?
Im running Woods 6 gear drives in my build, noise is not bothersome.

Have you calculated what your compression will be?

You could be walking a fine line with parts that are not optimized for each other.

Right now I'm running a 95" 10.5-1 CR. SE 257 cams, Power Comander .
VH True Duals with VH turn downs . Dyno numbers are 100/102.
Mileage sucks but I will deal with that .
I ride 20k min a year . I've been in 30 states this year so reliability is important .
But I like to run 80mph or more when I can .
Don't need more power just want more . Short attention span I guess .

The new build will be 10.5-1 again . Premium only again .
Looking at Andrews 59G or 67G or something from S/S .
I will call HQ . I'm very happy with the work they did on my heads 3 years ago .
Just looking for some experience you guys may have had . I realize it's sometimes only opinions .

Have you considered running one of the HQ cams to accomplish your goals?

I have 54H gear drives and I can't hear them except for when sitting stopped and pulling out off idle. Other than that I NEVER hear them. I love mine.

At 10.5:1, with HQ heads, the HQ575 or 0039 are both good choices and known to work well (compliment) the heads you already have an investment in.

I have the 575's like Phil suggests. It's part of the HQ103ST package that HQ does. The 575's are a very versatile cam. HQ uses them in kits ranging from 95" 9.5:1 kits all they way up to 120" 10.5:1 kits. They work well for me, but you should do some homework on what will work with your particular HQ heads. Probably going to have to discuss it with HQ directly.
