I use Harley's pin setup in my front saddlebag holes and switched to a bolt and nut setup in the rear hole.
I've seen a few saddlebags fall off when the harley pins failed.

 

I too changed the pins to bolts. Have seen 2 saddlebags come off while riding. Won't happen to me.
