My neighbor, riding bud and best friend helped me change out the front bearings today. Getting the 1st bearing out was a bear. The second one was easy since it was easy to get to. Both of the old ones needed to be replaced, but they had not seized up or come apart. I suppose that would have been next.
The bike now has a new rear tire, new rear brake pads and new front wheel bearings. I think I'm ready for the first spring ride. But for the life of me, I'd like to know why sealed bearings would fail with so few miles.

Yup, just had an 09 Electra Glide cook it's front wheel bearing. At 5k miles and having read this thread, it's definately in need of a recall.
Happened at 70mph in a corner (not a nice experience!!!!). Bars started to judder like i had a front wheel puncture, and then lost all steering control.
Thankfully no oncoming traffic, otherwise I might not be writing this!

Bearings spec
I know this is an old topic, but Id like to know if anyone has the dimension of the bearings, both front and rear bearings for 2010 Ultra limited.
I think I need to look for bearing that are made in USA, or Japan, not China, Korea, and Mexico.
I probably will not try HD bearings either, they are failed why bother.
Thanks much in advanced
