D&D Fat Cat - how loud are they?
#11
I had the quiet baffle on my Stage II 103 08. I kept it on for a month or so after my 107 was built. I bought a whole new standard muffler vs just the baffle because I thought the quiet baffle was too muffled and quiet, even after bumping the compression to 10:5-1. I much prefer the sound of the standard baffle and don't find it overly loud but it is not a quiet pipe either. I didn't notice any difference in performance. I still have the black quiet baffle muffler that I'll sell.

I have a Fatcat with a quiet baffle. The word "quiet" may be a little misleading. I try not to leave the house on the bike at an hour which will disturb the neighbors. I throttle lightly when I see law enforcement, even if I'm doing the speed limit. I didn't do those things with the stock pipes. I wouldn't describe it as overly loud. Just about right. If I want it to bark...it will.

I dont think mine is loud at all. When I am pulling a grade I can hear it pretty good. cruising around town or down the highway it is mello. my wife says it makes her ears ring though. I dont have any engine work done as of yet. I would like to see how it sounds when I add a piston and cam.
