Didn't stop, but my wife and I wondered how the good citizens of Shady Valley get out of town in winter. No way would I try to drive the road either side of town in snow or ice.

Was supposed to be up there tomorrow but had to postpone. I do want to ride the Snake.

That is a really neat area to ride (around robbinsville). It takes me 7 hrs to get in that area and I go as often as I can

Rode the drsgon 3 weeks ago drug the boards about 20 times...fun but intense..There are a lot of better roads that dragon...

did both skyline drive and blueridge in june, did it during the week so their were only a few people on bicycles, better views on skyline drive but there is a park fee and the speed limit is 35 mph

I'm with him. Did the whole BRP and Skyline on our way back home after starting out at Great Smoky Mountains, Foothills Pwy., Deal's Gap and Cherohala Hwy. Plan on going back in 2 years to check out Great Smoky Mountains again and travel out West towards to the mountains in Tennessee and Shady Valley.
