Default Top end noise ticking

I have a 09 road King with 6K miles. I recently changed the oil from Syn 3 to Amsoil 20/50. Since the oil change it seems the engine is a bit louder. I have a ticking that is not noticable at idle but is more apparent in the 2 to 2.5K rpm range. It does quiet down with higher revs. It's a bit tought to state the exact RPM's as I don't have a tach so they are just an estimate. The bike runs great but it seems to have gotten louder when I tuned 5K and even more loud with the recent oil change. I undertand these engines make quite a bit of noise... just not sure how much is considered niormal. I can best describe the sound as a sewing machine.

Mine did the same when I changed over to M1 at ~1000 miles. It will quiet back down. Mine did anyways. Nothing to worry about. Just the factory slop in the top end.

+1 had the same thing for over 10K on my 06 RK and its been no problem.

Another annoying thing you may hear is your head light trim rattling around. That drives me nuts but a little bending and its fixed.

Turn the radio up the ticking goes away mysteriously...That was my fix on my 07 EGC. Slip ons worked good too...38k miles and still ticks i think...I know you probably don't have a radio but you will see that it's a pretty common issue with 96 TC. Ride it like you stole it.

Why are you going so slow in the first place, try running the **** out of the bike, melt the engine and get a new one under warranty.

Dont think you have any worries just ride the bike you will get used to it or it will go away.

My 04 does the same thing. I figure if it starts and gets me to where I want to go, it is ALL GOOD!
