Harley Dealers must change!
#22
I am not wild about my dealer but I'm not stupid either. I know when they are working me or working with me. The sales and parts guys are cool and the service guy is a DBag so I now have a habit of asking the service clown the cost of service and laugh on my way to the parts counter to get what I need (sometimes parts sometimes just prices) to do it myself. I find it easier to change myself or the things I do than an entire industry.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with H-D. The two bikes I've had so far have been 100% reliable and a sheer joy to ride. The times i've had them in for tires (I do most of my own service) or anything else the dealers were courteous and gave good service.
Sounds like you've had a run of bad luck, but for me it's been a pleasant experience anytime I've been to the local dealers here.

I guess everyone's expectation of their dealer is different. I only needed them for warranty work. I had a little trouble getting buy in that I had an issue, but in the end it got fixed the way I wanted it done.
Now that warranty is gone, I have no need to carry on a relationship with any dealer.
Metric shops aren't all that different. Coming from a bike that needed $200+ valve adjustements every 8k, and rode like a bronco in town, I am more than pleased with the quality of the Harley, and don't see any diffence in service level.
I don't need no stinkin dealer.

The one I go to now is closer than the old one but has a bad rep for service. I found another dealer that is not too far away that treats you right and is fair. They also have a dyno for tuning.... So its nice, I have a place close by for parts and tire changes if I need it and motor work is not about 30 mins from them...
If you don't like your dealer change it, if you don't like the MOCO then get something else. Really no need for a call to action. Like anything, you have choices if you look around...

I have noticed that when a lot of people buy a Harley, They automatically think they have a right to become a$$holes and make demands with an in your face attitude. I find it entertaining to watch those jerks. Legends in their own minds. By the way I like my dealer and love my Harley. Both have been good to me.
