Harley Dealers must change!
#111
Anybody in business is motivated to make a profit. You have the choice to give them your business, or take it down the road. Personally, I've been very pleased with my local dealer. If the service manager feels a better part replacement is available through another source outside of Harley (brake pads, oil cooler, plugs), I can purchase it and they'll install it for me. Most of the time I can get their discount through a distributor. Keep in mind that dealer / owner has a ton of overhead, high interest cost, and a number of employee's to feed.

We do live in a capitalistic society, and most of us suffer from our inability to say no. We have been methodically and systematically convinced that we need our toys to define our being. We are 'self-conditioned' to accept what is offered and use it as a badge to show what we are 'worth'.
As for the overhead, that was done purposely, to attract the very same people who have allowed the prices to become so obsenely ridiculous.
And, NO, I won't let anyone have my harley!
