More Harley BS - You won't believe this!

i did do a google search for this after my last post and i came across a forum that was filled with postings by people complaining about stuff that banks have done. most of them were due to the customer's own lack of understanding of the process.
i'd be the last one to say that everything that business does, whether it be banking, construction, retail, etc. is completely on the up and up. the important thing to realize is that their policies are in writing, and it is the customer's responsibility to understand the process so as not to get jacked up.
and yes, it has happened to me before too. but i'll tell you what. you can get me once, but you're not gonna get me twice!

I think that is what I will do next time. To make matter more interesting they just called me again wanting to know where my payment was. I had to explain it to them again because the previous guy that said he would put notes in my account did not.
I guess I have learned a lesson here and that to be watchful of the date in the contract. I am a young 56 and have never had this happen to me in my entire life. I have used Harley credit many times also. The fault really lies with the dealer holding my paperwork so long and me not noticing the statement had not come. But since this had never happened before I know now what to do.
I am still going to give the dealership a call. I have been nice up to now and these from Harley credit are not necessary.
Anyway, I hope this thread has helped others in what to watch for so they don't have the same issues. Thanks for all the comments.

The fault fault seems to lie with your unwillingness to pay your bill and your need to make a problem where none exists.
How have you been nice so far? You ran to a message board and attacked your dealer and Eaglemark over something that was no big deal and only a problem because you insisted on making it a problem.

I hate to be the voice of reality but if you signed papers for the loan and accepted the funds to purchase the bike, it's your reponsibility to know when the first payment is due and to pay the agreed upon amount by the due date or pay the agreed upon amount plus the late fee after the due date.
One last comment. Is anyone else out there as tired of reading the "bad idea in this economy" comments as I am. The economy doesn't make the actions by a dealer any better or worse. Good ideas are good ideas and bad business practices are bad business practices regardless of the economy.
Rant Over.

It's hard to make a payment when the account is not set up yet but thanks for your useful comments.

so far in 7 pages we have two differant camps.... those that think there is no personal responseability from someone who has a loan, and those that think that people need to take care of business when its time to take care of it. oops forgot the camp that loves to bash harley at any excuse and mouth off about "in this economy" sometimes this place makes you shake your head and say "what the Hell"
