Most of the credible lenders have a grace period of 5 - 15 days past the due date.
They also have better interest rates than HD credit.
Whether you received the invoice on time or not, some of your earlier paperwork that you signed should have had a due date of your first payment. That will be the loophole that will cover them.
You should have paid the extra $12 and accepted the discount. You won't win this one and you may end up with with a head ache if you fight it.
The good news is that a payment has to be more than 30 days late before is scars your credit score.

I must have missed something in the posts. You were able to trade a 2008 Ultra for a 2009 Ultra (I am sure you took a loss of a few thousand dollars there, correct?). Buy a 2009 Heritage this year too and you get upset being hit up over $12 fee?
I understand your point (not fair), but, Dude...$12?! (and the dealer was going to make it up to you?)...maybe a little perspective here...or maybe you should have not bought two bikes if money is that tight...

I did receive a call and apology from the dealership today. In so many words they blamed it on a lazy office manager as I suspected.
Not that it's any of you business but I paid cash for the Heritage and only finance half of the Ultra. What can I say. I ran a little short of funds for this year.

Eaglemark gave me .5 lower than and my credit union wanted. I would have been baffled to not use Harley. I know some people are getting better rates but they were the best I could find. But yeah 84 months is crazy. Almost twice as much interest vs 36 or even 48 months

I feel for you and its shitty but at the end of the day I would just pay the $12 just to avoid all the personal grief that comes with getting upset over lazy people who don't realize what having loyal customers mean. Next time take your business to another dealer and in the mean time..enjoy your new rides

Let's see. You have been riding your new bike for a month and were taken by surprise that you have a payment due. Your dealer may have fu#cked up with the paper work but seems to me that it would be incumbent upon you to check on why you had not received any loan payment information. However, I think that if you asked for it, the financial institution after hearing the circumstances should waive the late fee. That is usually the case. Good luck.
