I have read in the past that Chicago HD not only wouldn't ship in a timely matter, but if someone came in the store and was looking to buy a part you had lying there, they would sell it to them and then reorder you another one. I have no first hand knowledge myself, but I have read that on this forum over a year ago, from a guy who went in the store and saw it happen.

No problem at all with Zanotti. If they have to order it, they have always shipped it out fast to me. I had a painted part in my hands in three weeks.

Currently there is something happening with the mother company HD, I have a part backordered at Zanotti and two items backordered at my local dealer at this present time. All items have since past their release dates and were put on backorder again.

And yes I agree that all dealers are stocking fewer parts these days. I know my local dealer is.

I ordered an adjustable rider backrest and 2 other items from CHD on July 30. They let me know, via email, that all items were special order with a 7-10 day ship time. All items arrived on August 11th, so they were pretty much right on the 10 day delivery window.

Ordering a drivers adjustable and rider back rest from a Indy dealer took 1 week.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I guess we have all had issues. I'm just use to getting great response from the vendorS I usually deal with.(SPOILED)

I deal with CHD and never less than 10 days, and a lot of times more like 20 days to my door

Chicago Harley is always slow, they special order everything that's ordered on line and it always takes about 3 weeks to get.
Zannoti is much faster sometimes but it is hit and miss, they do have somethings in stock for on line orders.

I'm I being to hard on them for slow shipping(4+ days)?? How is Zanotti's shipping time? I want to give them a test on the next item ordered. The shipping time is not a deal breaker for me as I appreciate the 20% discount. Would like to know how others have fared while dealing with these 2.
Both Zanotti's and Chicago HD have the same shipping issues. If you're in a hurry, buy it from the local dealer, otherwise expect to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery. Just how it is...

I stopped dealing with them because it seemed like every time I ordered something it was not in stock and I had to wait several weeks. And I am talking about very common parts that even the smallest mom and pop dealership would have in stock. I place most of my HD parts orders through M&M Cycles or Lake Shore Harley.

Isn't it amazing. I've lost track of how many time I've called to check on the status on an order that was way over due and the dealer says, "Oh, we just got it in and we're shipping it today." I'm almost convienced some of them can't keep up with there orders and what belong to whom. I know this for sure about New Roc HD in New York. They've got good prices but their service sucks.
