Limp mode-check engine light 1800rpm max

This happened to me today. 2011 Street Glide put about 200 miles on today and have about 800 total. Stopped to get gas on my way home, and after i filled up the check engine light stayed on. Bike wouldn't do over 2k rpms and after trying to limp it home it shut off and wouldn't start. Waited about 5 mins and it fired right up like nothing happened. Calling the dealer Tuesday.

Man, for once I am glad I bought the 07!
I gots an actual throttle cable
Seriously hope y'all find that little issue. Although it seems like no real pattern is developing for the actual problem as I have heard several "causes" so far. Of course it could be a few dealers making a certain claim cause they just don't know the reason and figure you don't either.
Sounds like the connector pin issue has the lead right now though.

Bud of mine had this happen to his 09 FLHX.......the problem/issue became more frequent until the bike wouldnt move period unless it was in "limp".......dealer put on a new throttle body and it was fixed......it seems the little black bod on the rear of the throttle body (i forgot what they called it) went bad................

103ci StreetGlide
I had the same problem tonight heading home toonight...bike has 306 miles on it, purchased it last week.
I was simply riding with my high-beams on, and they started going dim and realized that my radio had shut off and was turning back on. The bike went into limp mode and I rode it about 1/2 mile until I could pull over in a little parking area.
I let the bike sit for a couple minutes, restarted it and appeared to run fine..during the 30-mile ride home, the stereo continued to "reboot" when the motor revved (like it was surging) and the light would get bright/dim. I turned the high-beams off and the stereo off and rode it about 15 miles and turned everything back on to replicate the problem and it ran fine.
Note: This is a 2011 SG with the 103ci and about 45-degrees tonight.... seems a bit suspect

Lil Evil had it right in post #8.
There's a service bulletin out that seems to address at least some of these problems. The issue is pin fretting.
I read the bulletin today and watched the mechanic at my local independent replace the pins in question with a deutsch crimper on an '08 FLHTCU. Took about five minutes.

Gold Wing? - So you don't know about the three model years with bad welds in the frame that had to be recalled. Or the bank angle sensor that were bad and shut the motor off while you were going 75 on the interstate?
Apparently you don't do homework when you make a big purchase.
