TFB take a look at the VIN breakdown in your manual. Postion 6 will tell you if it's a Cali bike.

Okay I checked it out and I have

a bike made for sale in the US
(that's good because that's where I live)

a Harley-Davidson
(do other people besides Harley make motorcycles?)

a heavyweight motorcycle
(no crap, I found that out one day in the garage when I was trying to learn how to put it on a center stand)

a Street Glide
(I don't care what they call it, I just like the sleeker look)

a Twin Cam 96, 1584 cc air-cooled, fuel injected
(damn I thought I might have one of those water cooled models every one was waiting for)

a regular introduction date
(non-Liberal-assed-California-model)

a 5 digit check
(what the hell’s a digit check anyway?)

A bike made in York, PA
(I would have preferred Kansas City, Missouri since that's my home state)

then some serial numbers
(known only to me and the great state of Texas and my HD store where I bought it)

Interesting indeed but I didn't see anywhere where it said it whether it had a catalytic converter or not.

That right there tells you it doesnt have one. If your bike was produced for sale in CA then it has one. You have 49 state bikes and then you have California.

I've never noticed any excess heat on my '09 CA bike and it's totally stock. No oil cooler, no PCV or anything like that. The spark plugs look good and no excessive heat. Not sure why but that's just how it is for my particular bike.

Sweet... looks like I have a #1 in my #6, so that is cool... A little confusing at first, but after looking at the VIN I discovered the positions we not just single digits... LOL!!! I was also looking on my buyers agreement, so that could be the issue I was having LOL...
