Cd Player's for Road King's
Hi Gang,
I am new to the forum here so not sure if someone has wondered this already or not.
Here is goes, I ride a 2004 Road King and love it to death best bike I have owened, better then any of the Jap junk I bought in the past.
My question is Cd player's for Road King's my family friend just bought a 2005 E.G Classic that comes with a Cd player. I am part of school if you call it that at 28, I love the sound of my bike with Hooker's and there are day's I would love to play tunes on a trip. My family friend and I broke in his bike yesterday on a 400mile or 600km ride.
Now if there is any place for after market Cd player's would the Cd skip?
It is hard up here in Canada, as people are still pushing Jap Junk. As I tell them it ain't about speed..... Chrome might not get me home..... But it will....... Well you know the rest
Love the forum gang.

RE: Cd Player's for Road King's
Hi Jr
I will be interested in the replys you receive as well. I am getting a new RK at the end of the month. I would like tunes on bike also. Any thoughts to hooking up an MPs player or iPOD instead of a CD player? I think it may be easier. Harley makes a radio for bikes like the RK called the Road Tech Riser Mount Radio. It has an Aux input that would work great for an iPOD or MP3 player. Plus you can take all your tunes with you rather than just a few CDs. That's what I'm thinking about. Also a company called J&M audio makes speakers and a hook up just for an MP3/iPOD device if tunes are all you need and no radio. Again...we'll see what people say...but that's what I'm thinking about. Good luck!

Rubberduck,
Thanks hmm you might just have something there! Never thought of that, yes loads of tunes are better then just a Cd as this way there are what 400 songs to a Ipod? Now speakers would be the cats rump over ear peice's. As up here in B.C Canada it is a fine to have a head set on, only one ear can have tunes.

Motorcycle riders are very very bad people up here as they say! Even worse if you ride the best bike in the world and the only bike in the World a HARLEY

I have been going down this same road that you are on for awhile now. Here are some links that I have found that maybe helpful to you:
http://www.2wheeltunes.com/ - you can purchase these through www.bikerhaven.net for about $385
http://www.customcyclesounds.com/
http://www.motorcycletunes.com/
http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de...roduct_ID=5572
J&M's speakers seem to rich for what your getting.
I have ordered the motorcycletunes speakers with the amp and they should be in next week. I'll let you know what I think about them once I get them on my 2005 RK Classic.

I ride a 2001 Roadking Standard, and have mounted xm radio on the bike. The speakers are Kenwood and are molded into a set of fairing lowers. The amp is mounted in the left saddle bag, and is 240watts. Antenna is mounted on the front master cylinder cover. Volume control is molded into the docking station for the xm radio. I am currently working on making a speaker box to mount to the windshield which will hold two 4 1/4. I can get decent volume up till about 75mph, after that the wind/motor noise begins to drown it out, thats part of the reason for adding two more speakers. There isnt anything better than riding with tunes.

Hi Jr welcome to the forum, I have a 2005 EG and that comes with a radio that is compatable with an I Pod.The I Pod works fine and I can load 2100 CD quality songs on that.It has no skipping (which some Cd,s do) and i can recommend that.
As far as your comments about Jap junk,I cannot agree.I am probably the same as a lot of the guys around here and have enjoyed many a mile on a Goldwing (made in the USA) I also had a Valkyre (also made in the USA). Both of these are Jap but without them I would not have arrived at the bike I have now.
I know we all have our own opinion, and maybe you have had some bad experience on a Jap bike. But they have always given me good service.
Best Regards
JJ
