Default left switch on dead battery

Left my switch on for about 4 hours and the ole street glide wouldnt crank. So I jumped it off road about 10 miles battery was reading between 12 and 13thought it stayed aroungd 14 Will see if it wants to crankup in the mourning. Should I buy a battery tender and let it stay on it for awhile.

I would say charge it. When the battery needs a charge I use a small charger and set it on 2 amps.

charge it with low amps, see what happens, the battery might come back to life. what do you got to lose?

Do the temder or low amp charger as mentioned. from what i understand, alternators just dont recharde batteries up to their proper level as well as the old generators. The B Tenders are a great thing to have if you have a bike off season. the Jr. model will do just fine.

Yes, charge the battery with a battery charger. The battery tender is a good idea. Depending on the age and condition of the battery it should come right back.
A good way to kill an alternator is to have it trying to charge a run down battery.

I've left my ignition on two times in the last couple years. Fortunately, both times were at home in the driveway when I was distracted by wife or something as I rode in. I just put my battery tender on overnight and it charged the battery fully. In the winter, I leave it on constantly and any other time the bike will set for an extended period. Get a battery tender. Will not do a quick charge, but are well worth the money.

A friend of mine was off his bike for 10months... batt was complete dead. He used my charger for a few hours, but the bike would not turn over. We pop started it and rode around for a few hours. Battery was shot though because after a few days it was kaput. We had to help him put a new battery in...
