left switch on dead battery
Left my switch on for about 4 hours and the ole street glide wouldnt crank. So I jumped it off road about 10 miles battery was reading between 12 and 13thought it stayed aroungd 14 Will see if it wants to crankup in the mourning. Should I buy a battery tender and let it stay on it for awhile.

A good way to kill an alternator is to have it trying to charge a run down battery.

I've left my ignition on two times in the last couple years. Fortunately, both times were at home in the driveway when I was distracted by wife or something as I rode in. I just put my battery tender on overnight and it charged the battery fully. In the winter, I leave it on constantly and any other time the bike will set for an extended period. Get a battery tender. Will not do a quick charge, but are well worth the money.

A friend of mine was off his bike for 10months... batt was complete dead. He used my charger for a few hours, but the bike would not turn over. We pop started it and rode around for a few hours. Battery was shot though because after a few days it was kaput. We had to help him put a new battery in...
