Congrats and good luck keeping it stock. If you were really going to do that you'd never sign in on this forum again!

The new bike feels GREAT! I really haven't noticed any heat issues but the weather has been unseasonably cool where I live. I did order an oil temp gauge, and chrome racks for the bags and tourpack.

I do miss the fifth gear whine. It reminded me of the old pan or the 75 flh, can't remember wich one had that same sound. Damm the Whiners that whined about the whine.
Traded an '07 Heritage for the '09 Ultra and have loved every minute of it. I didn't have any real whine on the Heritage, but I have noticed some with the Ultra. I actually like it ... but I'm a bit weird. Like you, it reminds me of another bike I had in the past ...

I've ridden the Ultra in some pretty hot weather (100+) and I think it was a lot cooler on my thigh than the Heritage. Still hot, though, but cooler than before. I can probably live with it, and it's made me wonder if going for the 103ci engine would be worth it.

Congrats on the new bike!

Default New Ultra for me too...

I traded my '01 EG Standard for a '09 Ultra. I got a great deal all around so I can swallow the payments.

I test rode a '07 Ultra, a '10 Limited, and a '09 Ultra. I settled on the '09 because it had all of the goodies the Limited had except the 103 engine and the heated grips.

What sent me to the '09 was the way the bike handles curves and rough or grooved roads. It is a vast... and I mean vast improvement over the '07. If not... I would have bought a beautiful '07 and saved about $7K after the chrome and stage one I did to the '09.
